Tribesports Performance Gear Review

The Good

Kristin: I wore Tribesports Performance Capri tights for the first time at a race knowing if they were a problem I would have no one to blame but myself for such a rookie mistake. Happily I was about 7 miles into the 8 mile trail race the first time it occurred to me to pay attention to how the tights felt. What this tells me is they fit perfect and are super comfortable. Capri length running tights are a favorite of mine. I have gone shopping for a new pair several times and, despite the prevalence in the stores, left empty handed so finding a nearly perfect pair makes me a very happy runner. I attribute a good part of the comfort having the right amount of stretch in the material. The Tribe Sport Performance Capri extends a few inches below the knee which is where I like them to hit, mostly because I think they look best this way, but also because it guarantees they won’t bunch up around the knee. The calf fit is snug but not restrictive. The waist band is wide and hits between the hipbones and natural waist. They have a drawstring which I didn’t use though I imagine less hippy runners may find it helpful. I wore them a few days ago for a 22 miler and can report no chafing.

Thomas: As in the previous review, The Tribesports Men’s Performance Tights are feature packed at a very affordable price. The tights are as comfortable as any others I have worn. You get details you wouldn’t expect. Features include:

  • Flatlock seams
  • Elastic waist with interior drawcord
  • Back of the knee mesh ventilation panels
  • Center back secure zip pocket
  • Ankle zips
  • Gripper tape on inside bottom hem for a secure fit
  • 360 degree reflectivity
  • Aegis antibacterial treatment

I wore the tights in temps from 15 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. They were comfortable in that range. There were no issues with chafing or irritation from the ankle zippers.

The Bad

Kristin: The one aspect I don’t love is the yellow, and unfortunately they don’t come in other colors. Additionally the reflective stripes in the back of the calf look more skin color then yellow and I had friends remark that it almost appeared that I had holes in the back of the tights.

Thomas: I am 5’11” with a 32″ waist. I went with my standard medium size. The tights fit a little large.

The Overall

Kristin: All in all these are fabulous tights that I highly recommend for the price.

Thomas: For $38 bucks you are getting a really good deal. I am a fan of the Tribe brand I look forward to seeing what other products they come out with.

    1. I like the way you think. Being from Maryland I choose to think they are Towson University colors.
