Injuries are a common refrain as runners, and often times, we try our worst to limit them. So what’s why we wanted to talk to Dr. Eoin Everard, a chartered physiotherapist with a PhD in Biomechanics. Professionally he has lectured in Ireland for over 10 years on Sports Medicine and Biomechanics publishing several peer reviewed studies.
On this episode, we talk about everything from stretching to warn-ups to the secrets to a healthy spine. From a competitive perspective he has won 5 national senior running titles and has represented Ireland on the international stage from 800m to 10k cross-country. He is a sub-4-minute miler and ran sub-14 minutes for the 5k last year. Finally, he is the current indoor 3000m European O35 champion.
