Nike x Renegade, the Swoosh’s first-ever footwear partnership with a run specialty store
Nike Vomero Premium and Nike Vaporfly 4
April 1 at Renegade, April 4 at SNKRS and select retailers
There’s something about run specialty that’s just special. When done right, a good running store feels like a home base, a clubhouse for community, a place where runners go to find themselves within the sport. Nowhere exemplifies that more than Renegade, the California-based shop founded by Victor Diaz, a former public school educator who wanted a place to create community and foster belonging for all athletes.

We got the chance to visit Renegade (the Oakland location) and host a live podcast at the store just a few years back, and we can confirm it’s the place to be. Racks of trending run fashion from brands big and small. Shelves of footwear anchored in taste, not in units moved. And an owner who cares about running with every fiber of his being.
With that in mind, it’s no surprise that Renegade is the first-ever Run Specialty Group partner for a Nike footwear collection, as the two entities are set to release a set of custom, co-created designs of the Vaporfly 4 and Vomero Premium in April.

According to Nike, “both models are inspired by Diaz’s Mexican heritage and the nation’s storied past, flooded in a rich dark brown base that embodies the rebellious spirit of the Renegade brand. Vibrant orange accents reflect Mexican deserts while highlighting key performance innovations like Nike Air Zoom units or carbon Nike Flyplate.”
One of our favorite design details on the Vomero Premium, the iconic “AIR” graphic borrowed from 90s Nike Basketball models, is now reimagined as the Renegade logo. On the Vaporfly 4, the reflective heel tape “celebrates the magnitude and beauty of Mexico’s historic architecture.”
Across various elements of the collection, the phrase “Barrios Unidos,” united neighborhoods in English, strives to incite connection and collaboration between communities, including runners, to create a better tomorrow.
If you’re looking to pick up either pair, the Nike x Renegade footwear collection will launch April 1 at physical and digital Renegade doors (Oakland and Los Angeles) before becoming available at SNKRS and select retailers on April 4.
