The Drop

Ciele’s second apparel drop after last year’s Elite Collection

Apparel Range

Running essentials from shorts to tees to tights

Price

$60-$130

Last year, Ciele– purveyors of premium running headwear– dipped their Canadian toes into the waters of performance run apparel with the exceptional Elite Collection. It was a bold move from a brand predominantly known for making caps; the headwear segment is fairly straightforward, but a foray into run apparel with an array of cuts and sizes comes with a whole new set of headaches. Or joys, if it works out well.

That first set featured one of our favorite running singlets– the Elite, which featured no-stitch construction and a breathable mesh that was second to none. But with the Elite name came an elite price tag, which put it out of reach for some consumers.

So we were excited to see the new (and more extensive) second set of apparel that dropped just in time for the warming of the weather. It’s called the PR Collection and it features “elevated essentials designed for every runner– regardless of pace, speed, or destination.” The broader spectrum of run apparel is present, ranging from quick-dry t-shirts to running tights and lightweight singlets.

In typical Ciele fashion, the simple color blocks of the set are in tune with current trends, covering the range of earth tones with a few pastels mixed in.

According to Ciele co-founder (and recent podcast guest) Jeremy Bresnen, the goal of the collection is to “bring elevated details and high-quality fabrics to training days and every run in between.”

Let’s dive into the new pieces (which we’ll be testing soon, but wanted to get this out so y’all can get your hands on it at the same time as us).

DLYShort Long Brief

$80

About The Short

This 5” run short features a fully recycled, mechanical stretch fabric that’s lightweight and quick-drying. Key features include a zippered back pocket for smaller items and a reverse-stitched, no-chafe liner. Bonus points for stretch pockets on the liner that keep your phone and extra gels bounce-free against your thigh.

FSTSinglet

$80

About The Singlet

Ciele takes a note from their premium performance headwear and uses the same micro mesh in this singlet. Fully recycled, lightweight, and quick dry with anti-odor technologies and reflective details.

Side vents add to the extra cooling process while flatlock stitching and welded seams give you a chafe-free experience.

FSTShirt

$90

About The Tee

The tee and singlet are made from the same micro mesh material, so you’re getting all the benefits of cooling and non-chafing, just in a t-shirt experience. Ciele likes to use longer sleeves on their tees, so if you’re sleeve-phobic, keep that in mind. We kinda like it, but to each their own.

FSTTight

$130

About The Tight

The price point puts this up against some of our favorite tights of all time (see: Tracksmith Turnover), but the details look promising, so we’re hoping it holds up to those standards. The fabric is 65% recycled nylon with 35% elastane, so there’s plenty of stretch and support. Which will be needed since the ankles are a no-zip closure. Ciele makes up for that with the two integrated side leg pockets for flush phone and fuel carry.

QCKBra

$60

About The Bra

Ciele took this straight from their Elite Collection and dropped it down into the PR family, so everything about this is a bit more premium. Made of recycled nylon and elastane, the bra also features Ciele’s signature Airbeam on the spine, a combination of open mesh and carbon yarns for a superior moisture wicking structure. A soft touch band is treated with wicking and odor control. Includes removable pads.

I love my Ciele hats and am excited to try their PR Collection, but is the QCKBra for men a bro or a manzere?

    1. Robbe says:

Lol whoops! But seriously, the CEO of Kramerica Industries should cash in on that.
