How Cool Are You?

Everyone’s favorite Brooklyn-based hipster-but-not-hipster running brand, Bandit, is back again. Sometimes, when the folks at Bandit drop a new collection, we struggle to write about it because although we love it, they just sell out so damn fast. They’ll tell us about a drop, and two days later, it’s gone. Not this time. Spring 2025 is the dawn of a new era for Bandit in more ways than one — starting with more inventory for you to pick up.

More importantly, though, Bandit’s Spring 2025 collection is as cool (if not cooler) as it’s ever been — literally. Its Evolution Report (a fancy name for a lookbook) describes the Spring drop as including more than 100 pieces comprising both new silhouettes and refinements to nearly a dozen Bandit classics. However, the reason I keep calling Bandit’s new digs cool is, well, they are. One of the new fabric technologies that Bandit is hanging its hat on this season is called Striped Cadence, and it’s an evolution of the existing Cadence fabric, which uses raised ribs to promote airflow and wick moisture away from the skin.

Pockets, pockets, pockets

Striped Cadence is everywhere

Striped Cadence is only the first of three new fabrics for Bandit, though. Select outer layers will also receive a new material called Reflecto. And yes, I know it sounds like the name of a bad supervillain, but hear me out — it’s a highly reflective material with a water-repellent finish, so it should be the perfect combination of visible and protective for the spring runs just before the time changes. A word to the wise, though — if you wear a Reflecto jacket, don’t expect your friends to be able to take top-tier flash photos of your fit.

Bandit’s last new fabric is what it’s calling Nanomesh, which is once again an evolution of a Bandit classic. It’s gone from a Macromesh to a Micromesh, and now it’s going for an even more compact weave that’s supposed to be just as breathable and offers the same sweat-wicking protection. Bandit’s idea is that the mechanical stretch combined with minimal spandex usage will prevent the fabric from weighing down and sticking once it gets wet, which should, in theory, make it work perfectly for those transitional runs when it’s not too warm but not too cold.

Of course, there’s a lot more to dig into with Bandit’s Spring 2025 drop — I mean, it includes over 100 pieces. Perhaps the best way to breeze through the entire range is to take a deeper dive into Bandit’s Evolution Report, which you can do at the link. It goes section by section, showing off the pieces that utilize Bandit’s new fabrics as well as the updates to core pieces, just in case you really want to get into the nitty-gritty.
