Sound of Silver

There seems to be a wave of silver shoe collaborations this month, from Saucony and Altra to now Nike. There also seems to be a sense that the Vomero Premium is getting a ton of attention from the non-running community. So here goes one more to the pit.

Nike’s ongoing effort to mix performance running and high fashion continues with its second collaboration with London-based beauty brand Isamaya. Following a well-received Holiday 2024 capsule built around the Air Max Dn silhouette, the two are back, this time with a running-specific focus anchored by the Nike Vomero Premium.

Who is Isamaya

Isamaya is a beauty brand creating products designed to enhance (not overshadow) individual expression. The brand was founded by Isamaya Ffrench, a makeup artist and creative director who has spent over a decade at the forefront of the industry. Her work has appeared in major fashion publications and on icons such as Rihanna, Madonna, Cher, Rosalía, and Bella Hadid, with a creative direction informed by a background in theater and performance. Since launching in 2022, Isamaya has cultivated a distinct identity that intersects cosmetics, culture, and now, sportswear.

The Vomero

The new color of the Vomero Premium arrives in a Smoke Grey/Light Smoke color upper with a Silver/Chrome sole. A deliberately restrained palette that reflects a contemporary aesthetic and clearly steps out of every other Vomero Premium available from Nike right now. This will likely be as successful as the recently released Melitta Baumeister collaboration, which sold out in seconds.

The Vomero Premium itself does not change in terms of performance specs.

Run Forever

The collaboration is framed as part of a larger capsule collection for running titled “Run Forever.” In the campaign starring British runner Dina Asher-Smith and Isamaya herself, two runners on treadmills are attempting to run nonstop, prompting concern among viewers. The capsule includes apparel such as women’s running shorts and tops, a singlet, a running belt, and accessories like socks and arm warmers.

The Isamaya x Nike “Run Forever” collection will release on April 24th on the Nike SNKRS App and at selected retail partners. Retail price will be $230.
