Anything New York can do…

I don’t know how deeply ingrained you are in your local running scene… or the running scene in Los Angeles, for that matter. Honestly, maybe not at all. But what if I asked how ingrained you are in your local sweet treat scene? That’s probably where I have you. Everyone likes a tasty little bite after a run, whether it’s three miles or thirteen miles.

So, when Tipster brought its first Bakery Run to life in New York last year, people took notice. It drew more than 17,000 applicants to participate in an event reserved for just 100 people. And now, it’s headed to the West Coast on May 17.

This time, though, the crew at Tipster has teamed up with Salomon to bring a little gravel-running cred to the situation. The two brands have cooked up what they’re calling the LA Food Run 2026, which is a socially paced half marathon that stops at eight different iconic bakeries and restaurants throughout the city, where participants will get a curated bite before heading off to the next stop — think Taco Bell 50K, but way shorter and much higher quality.

LA Food Run 2026 registration details

If you’re interested in eating your way across Los Angeles, you’ll have to act quickly. Salomon and Tipster are allowing only 100 runners (divided into three waves based on experience) to tackle the Food Run, and selections are made via lottery. On top of that, entries are being selected in pairs, so it’s a good idea to partner up with someone who will match you bite-for-bite along the way.

Oh, and the best part? The entire LA Food Run event is free. That’s right, it costs $0 to run your way across LA, stopping at the likes of Courage Bagels, Fondry, Two Rose, and more. You will, of course, have to get yourself to Los Angeles in time for May 17, but that’s a small price to pay for adventure.
