Showers and Flowers

Nowadays, everything is like the meme where the guy blinks, and the whole thing is gone. April felt like that, packed with two major marathons, which meant high-octane brand activations, too many to keep up with, and also an excellent opportunity to do shock drops, which are usually just announced and available to buy the next day. With so many things happening, I sometimes forget what was released each month. Thankfully, I’ve learned to take screenshots of everything on the spot and add them to a doc. Here are my favorite saves from the month.

The April Dispatch

This month had plenty of releases, here are some of our favorites.

New Look

Mirko Borsche Redesigns OAC Logo

The On Athletics Club, On’s elite global running team, unveiled its updated logo designed by the German agency Bureau Borsche, which is simply one of the best in sports branding and previously created the Ikon collection for On. The new OAC logo is inspired by the flowing curves of the tartan track, which represent community and connection, striking a balance between heritage and modern running. The logo is also part of the brand’s new race kits.

Elite Speed

Saucony x Silo

Saucony has launched its most luxurious footwear division to date with the debut of Saucony Silo, marking a bold new chapter for the brand. Silo merges Saucony’s performance-driven legacy with high-fashion influences, showcased through bold design and avant-garde visuals. The Endorphin Elite 2 S is leading the way, a $300 performance shoe offered in standout colorways like Gold/Adobe and Triple Black.

Feeling Grey

New Balance Grey Days

Technically this started May 1, but it should be mentioned just so y’all can get in on it. The annual celebration of the brand’s iconic colorway features a variety of footwear and apparel drops, including a Gabby Thomas 1080v14 and 471, as well as the once-every-five-years release of the Made in USA 1300JP. And don’t forget about the 1906L, the one shoafer to rule them all.

Major Crimes

Bandit x Boston/London Marathons

Another marathon, another Bandit killer drop; this month, there were two. The Bandit team created a collection for Boston titled “Down Bad,” inspired by the unrelenting hills of the course, and one for London, “As true as fair and fair as true.” An ode to the same 42.2km we all run on the day. Unique pieces, with race kits, long sleeves, and performance tees, as always, with artwork inspired by the worlds of art, architecture, and design. At this point, this is their new standard.

Guilty Pleasures

On x Pleasures x The Loop

On has unveiled a bold new capsule collection in collaboration with Los Angeles streetwear label Pleasures and Austin-based running collective The Loop. The collection reworks classic On silhouettes like the Cloudmonster 2 and Cloudmonster Hyper with striking graphics and apparel built for performance and street appeal. It will launch on May 8.

Time to Dye

Ante Berlin x Adidas x JW Studios

During their pop-up for the Berlin Half Marathon, Berlin-based brand Ante teamed up with Adidas and Jakob Werner for a special activation: Bring your pair of Adizero EVO SL, and we will dye them. The result was pretty sick-looking shoes, reminiscent of those iMacs from the 2000s, bright and happy. Fun fact: I attended the event and saw pairs in person; unfortunately, as Berlin goes, nobody told me where the actual dye lab was located.

Spring Satisfaction

Satisfy Spring Drops

By now, all the sneak peeks we caught during our Paris trip to the Satisfy showroom are being released, including the latest Off Road collection and the much-anticipated, somewhat controversial pleated running shirt. It’s clearly inspired by Issey Miyake, the king of pleats, but applied to a running shirt and using Auralite instead of silk. It’s something I definitely want to try.

Back Bay Throwback

Swiftwick x Running Supply

Swiftwick and Running Supply created a unique drop during the Boston Marathon. We wrote all the details about it. They released a personal collection of vintage running gear from previous years of the iconic race, including shirts from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, as well as other gear such as jackets and hats. Most were gone instantly, which is good and bad. But a fresh and interesting idea nonetheless.

Dover Down

Adidas x Dover Street Market x Phileo

Meanwhile, in France, the epicenter of cool (also known as Dover Street Market), tapped local disruptive shoe brand Phileo to create a small custom batch of the Adizero Evo SL as part of their curated series. The result was a dirty-looking, greasy, raw shoe available only in-store. Although just a custom, these efforts make us wonder if the EVO SL is the perfect collab shoe.

Another One

District Vision x New Balance

Coming back for a third release together, the District Vision x New Balance Minimus MT10 channels early-2000s Japanese minimalism into a shoe designed for stripped-back, natural movement. This is a runner’s minimalist toolkit: tactile, technical, and trail-ready. Final touches include co-branded tongue details and a woven heel tab.

Flying Heat

Soar Hot Weather Tee

Now that the sun is finally here, Soar has released an updated version and colors of its hot-weather shirts. These shirts are made of highly breathable fabric that protects from the sun. This will be the summer we all run in long sleeves. Or short sleeves. Or no sleeves.

Shield Yourself

District Vision x Post Archive Faction Eyewear

PAF never disappoints. Whether collaborating with On, Satisfy, or District Vision, they consistently nail the subtle yet brilliant details of their joint efforts. With District Vision, they reworked the Junya Racer sunglasses with a sleek new lens shape, frosted frames, and other minimal information that takes the already iconic glasses to a new level and a new, higher price.
