Final forms

Swiss brand On and South Korean fashion label Post Archive Faction (PAF) have announced Current Form 5.0, which is set to be the last of their collaborations under the Current Form project. The partnership began in 2024 and has grown into one of On’s most praised collaborations.

A new Cloudsoma

The main product is the Cloudsoma PAF, presented in Cobble/Raven, Black/Black, and Haze/Linen. It’s inspired by mountains, rock formations, and the relationship between a static landscape and a body moving through it.

The upper of the Cloudsoma uses recycled polyester and TPU with a high-abrasion, quick-drying construction, while curved overlays and flowing lines wrap around the foot. The off-center lacing system has become PAF’s trademark through these collaborations.

Behind the product

To celebrate the partnership, On and PAF worked with South African land artist Strijdom van der Merwe on a circular stone installation in Tenerife, Spain. It was constructed as a permanent trail loop that runners can continue to use after the partnership ends.

The installation appears in a three-part documentary that follows PAF co-founder and creative director Dongjoon Lim through the project’s archive, then moves to the construction of the Tenerife loop and, finally, to athletes running around the completed work.

A look back at the Current Form series

Current Form 1.0 focused on training and recovery clothing, and the debut explored road running while introducing PAF’s asymmetric design language into On’s performance ecosystem.

Current Form 2.0 shifted from road to trail and from warmer conditions toward colder outdoor environments. The Cloudventure became the central footwear model, accompanied by technical pieces intended for trail use. A follow-up, Current Form 2.0+, arrived in 2025 and expanded that direction.

Current Form 3.0 changed pace again. Its Cloudmonster Hyper PAF combined the upper construction of the collaborative Cloudmonster 2 with the faster Cloudmonster Hyper bottom unit.

Current Form 4.0 moved directly into high-performance racing. Its headline Cloudboom Volt PAF used layered overlays and an integrated wrap upper, backed by Helion cushioning, alongside the Zero Jacket, Zero Singlet, Zero 2-in-1 Shorts, Running-T, Run Belt, Zero Cap, and Run Socks.

When and where can you get the shoe?

On x PAF Current Form 5.0 launches globally on September 3 through On, Post Archive Faction, and selected retailers.
