Grey is the loneliest color, unless you’re New Balance. Then it’s your best friend.
Today marks the annual celebration of the muted tone’s longstanding presence within the New Balance universe, as the month-long Grey Days celebration kicks off.
Like a Marvel blockbuster with no punches pulled, New Balance is rolling out a whole slew of models that revolve around its most iconic athletes and brand ambassadors, including Gabby Thomas, Storm Reid, Cameron Brink, and more.
New Balance T500
Grey first took hold in the 1980s as New Balance focused on the sidewalk aesthetic of an urban running shoe. Since then, the brand has shifted away from leather and suede and embraced more synthetic textiles and brighter colors throughout its catalog. Nevertheless, more than any other hue, the color grey endures as an almost proprietary tone for New Balance, threading its way across product lines, from running shoes like the 1080v14 to iconic everywhere models like the 990v6.
For the 2025 celebration of Grey Days, New Balance is rolling out an entire collection over the new four weeks, consisting of 21 footwear and 11 apparel styles, ranging from classics to modern favorites. Most notable is the 1300JP – a style released just once every five years with a heralded spot in global sneaker culture.
New Balance 1300 JP ($330)
On the running side of things, we’ll get to see a new 1080v14 colorway (probably the least exciting one ever) right out of the gate, in tandem with a wide range of apparel.

Grey Days styles will be globally available in New Balance stores, NewBalance.com and select retailers in May with suggested retail pricing from $40 – $330 USD.
