Tracksmith’s gym-focused Fieldhouse collection
Shirts and shorts for pumping iron
$20-75
In case you haven’t heard, Robbe and Thomas are gym bros now. Well, that might still be a strong way to describe their new lifting regiment, but they’re still pumping iron pretty regularly — at least compared to some of our team. Anyway, Tracksmith seems to have picked up on the new wave of runners spending a little more time in the gym, whether it’s for a New Year’s resolution or just to fill out the racing singlets that sometimes fit us like flags draped on the shoulders of Olympians.
Whatever the reason, Tracksmith has finally introduced a brand-new, gym-ready set of apparel dubbed the Fieldhouse Collection. Get it? They already had the Trackhouse line for lounging, but now there’s also the Fieldhouse line for other workouts. So far, the Fieldhouse collection looks like it’s a pretty good mix of shorts and short-sleeved (or sleeveless) tops, which is just about all you could want for a quick session in the gym — especially if you’ve gotta show off for your crush.
Better yet, all of these pieces are available now, and they’re actually a bit more affordable than most Tracksmith collections, so it’s not a bad time to stock up. So, with that, let’s hit the gym.
A new staple
How could we not start with the piece that figures to be a staple of Tracksmith-branded gym days for seasons to come? The Fieldhouse Tee sets the tone for the rest of this new collection, pairing a cotton blend with a Dri-Release treatment that wicks moisture and dries quickly. This tee might look like it has a button placed on its collar, too, but rest assured that nobody is lifting in a button-up short.
Welcome to the gun show
If you weren’t sold on Tracksmith’s Fieldhouse Tee, what about the Tank version? I mean, our runner’s arms aren’t big enough to fully justify the gun show that we’re about to give the old ladies at Crunch Fitness, but there’s an ego boost in there somewhere. Like most of the collection, it’s made from a cotton blend that features Dri-Release technology to wick moisture and dry quickly — something your crappy high school cotton tees probably didn’t do.
Who wears short shorts? We do
Tracksmith’s Fieldhouse Shorts are a gym-ready version of its beloved Van Cortlandt. They use double-layered breathable mesh to keep you feeling light and moving freely. You could almost certainly double up your workouts and run in the Fieldhouse Shorts as well. Just keep in mind that there’s no liner, so you’ll have to supply your own inner support.
The classic gray T-shirt look
Although most of the Fieldhouse collection is designed to be light and breathable, the Short-Sleeve Crew is a throwback to Tracksmith’s Greyboy origins. It’s a little bit heavier than the Fieldhouse Tee, made from a cotton blend and featuring a loopback French terry texture. If you look closely, you’ll even notice a single stick line representing the classic sash of most Tracksmith pieces.
Jealous it doesn’t come in Men’s
Forgive us if you’re getting flashbacks to high school gym class or varsity sports, but there’s something about the Fieldhouse Pinnie that just feels right. It’s made from a single layer of lightweight mesh that’s incredibly breathable, and it comes in both Faded Marigold and Navy — classic colors that might be just a little too Michigan-heavy for our Mid-Atlantic hearts. Also, come on, Tracksmith, why no Men’s cut?
You know, for aftercare
I mean, who doesn’t want a fresh, soft towel with the Tracksmith logo on it? Honestly, the Fieldhouse Towel might be one of the most affordable items in Tracksmith’s entire collection, and it’s sized just right for a quick trip to lift. It’s made from 100% cotton and comes in either Ivory or Navy to match the rest of your gym-day fit.
