Well, it snowed in Maryland a few days ago, but as Maryland does, it’ll be almost 90 degrees on Thursday. Which means those summer vibes will be in full swing. And while we’re trying to eat as much UV as possible to ward off the Rona, we want to protect our eyes. We also want to look cool, which is very difficult when you haven’t had a haircut in a few months.
Anyway, we hit up a few sunglass companies who specialize in running to see what they had cracking for this year, and they came through huge. Check out a bunch of styles below for both men and women– we guarantee you’ll find something for your daily run and that Zoom vacation to the Outer Banks.
Knockaround is a company out of San Diego, so they know a thing or two about sunshine. While some of their styles mimic the classic Wayfarer, others branch out into lifestyle/run crossover territory. For women, Meaghan is loving the Deja Views in glossy turtle shell, a truly classic and fashionable frame that you won’t find from other running sunglasses companies.
The aquamarine/mint frames on other styles like the Fast Lanes speak to our summer soul, while less-assuming styles like the Mai Thai are low-key cool. Most styles have polarized options, as well as rubberized inserts on the nose bridge tabs to prevent slippage. From running parties to after parties (remember those?), Knockaround has a lens/frame combo for any running occasion.

This year’s new release from Goodr, the Circle G is legitimately one of the coolest styles out there right now (in my opinion, anyway). Thomas actually made me stop wearing these because they ended up on my face for every photo shoot and we decided Goodr was getting way too much free publicity (Venmo/alcohol donations accepted, Goodr PR person reading this). Anyway, they work equally as great on the run, they’re fully polarized, and they’ll still fit in nicely against a Coachella Zoom background.

The Tifosi Svago has always been one of my most favorite pair of sunglasses, so we were excited to see what they had for Spring/Summer 2020. The construction of Tifosi is the best of all the running sunglasses brands– they’re more sturdy and feature rubber grips for the bridge of the nose to prevent bouncing on the run.
This year they sent us the Tifosi Swoon and Swank (regular and glitter) models. The Swank in brown fade is a nice twist on the classic Wayfarer style, so you can’t go wrong with that. Meanwhile, the Glitter model provides a nice summer option. For women, the Tifosi Swoon is a nice balance between lifestyle and running.
By the way, you can also customize your own glasses by choosing your own lens, frame, and arm combination, which is pretty cool.
