NIKE SHORT FAIL

I gave a favorable review of the Nike Dri-FIT Tempo Two-In-One Men’s Running Shorts back in May. Two and a half months later, the shorts are toast! The stitching that held the shorts together unraveled around the iPod pocket. This created a gaping hole that my iPod fell through. The hole would be big enough to see your bare bottom if the shorts did not have a lining. The hole opened up at the beginning of the 18 mile run, of course.

In comparing the longevity of my running apparel Under Armour reigns supreme. I have two pairs UA shorts I purchased three years ago that I still wear, whats more is that they are in great shape.  I have to throw out the Under Armour because it stinks, not because it wears out.  For one reason or another the Nike apparel I have had just doesn’t hold up as well.  I had another pair of nike shorts where the reflective material fell off while I was running.

All the running apparel companies need to work on sizing.  Why can’t they just make the shoes a half size bigger and call it a size 10?  Instead if you where a size ten you have to buy a 10.5.  I never know what size shirt to get either.  Even in the same brand, one time I will be a medium and the next time I will need a large.  Waist sizes too.  I bought a new pair of shorts in a size medium like the last pair, this time my wife told me that the shorts left no room for mystery.  It is a crap shoot every time.

P.S.  Skull Candy headphones don’t hold up for running!  Two pairs up in smoke in 2 months.  The wires are to flimsy and can’t take the constant motion so, sooner or later a headphone goes out. This Boombox is cool, maybe carry this around instead. (it’s interactive, play with the buttons)

only 2 and a half months? I've actually had the same running shorts from adidas for over 8 years now. they've seen better days but they are not unraveling! Good luck on getting some new ones! I would get the sony wrap around headphones (I have some in my astore) they work great I've been using them for a year now.

  2. 8 years! That's crazy. What's the astore? I have used the Sony's too
they last me 6-10 months. I buy the cheapest ones, $19-20. We are
going to have to get you new shorts. 😉

Yea, I mean why spend money if the old ones work! 🙂 The astore is a store on my blog that you can buy stuff I “recommend”. The sony ones I have have worked so well. I was surprised with them. I had iluv ones that broke asap too. I know the pain.
