Best Gifts for Mothers Who Run

Mothers, they really are god-tier women doing god-tier things to keep this world from falling apart. Some of them even manage to run and race while keeping it all together. It goes without saying that they deserve to be celebrated 365 days a year, but since there is a certain day that we collectively set aside for them, well – I guess we should go all-in on it.

We’re not saying you have to buy your mother (or wife) a present, but we’re saying it probably doesn’t hurt. A card can only go so far, and it’s usually not as far as a pair of daily trainers or a Thule Urban Glide 3. So we asked our team of women reviewers here at Believe in the Run to give us their favorite running gear and accessories. Something they enjoy that wouldn’t miss if you handed it over to mom at your Mother’s Day brunch.

So here’s that list. Thank you mothers, for all you do for us. And shout-out to all of you mothers pulling daily doubles with training and parenting. You are absolute legends.

Our Picks

Melissa’s Pick #1

Ciele SPD Bra ($70)

Give the gift of comfort and support for the mother runner in your life. This bra is soft, stretchy, breathable, and comfortable while also providing plenty of  support whether chasing PRs or some peace and quiet. I prefer the Deco Rose colorway, but there are three to choose from.

Melissa’s Pick #2

Rabbit Speed Leggy 4” ($65)

These mid-length tight shorts are comfy and flattering for all body types. They will quickly become her go-to for all running, even running errands, the same way they have for myself. Plenty of storage options abound with pockets along both legs and a zippered pocket along the waistband.

Melissa’s Pick #3

Thule Urban Glide 3 ($650)

If there’s a gold standard for running strollers, it’s this one. An all-terrain jogging stroller with air-filled tires and a superior suspension, this thing is ready for all your running adventures. I’ve used the Urban Glide 2 for the past two years since I became a mother, and I don’t know where I’d be without it.

Reese’s Pick #1

Roll Superplush Slides ($69)

Years ago, I bought those cheap $20 Amazon ‘cloud’ slides. They worked… until they shrunk in the sun (yes, that actually happened) and fell apart way too fast. Enter the Roll Recovery Superplush slide. The foam somehow nails that balance of being super soft and seriously supportive. I’ve worn them on walks, around the house, out to get coffee—you name it.  I’m not even recovering from anything and I still reach for them daily. The best part? They still look brand new. It’s like a mini spa day for your feet, designed by people who actually understand what recovery should feel like.

Meghann Pick #1

Vuori Boyfriend Joggers ($75)

Every mom needs some cozy pants to lounge in post-run while running the kids all over town. And, there’s nothing more comfortable than these pants.

Meghann Pick #2

Vitamix Blender 5200 ($450)

Gather your siblings and pool your money together to get mom something she really needs. Or, for husbands, splurge on a solid blender so you never have to go without fresh Blender Muffins at home again. I’ve had my Vitamix blender for 10 years, and it’s still going strong, making everything from blender muffins and soup to energy bites every week.

Meaghan Pick #1

Vuori Long-Sleeve Halo Crew ($96)

Meghann already mentioned my favorite joggers (Vuori Boyfriend) but my other Vuori staple is the Halo Crew long sleeve. This amazingly soft shirt (made from DreamKnit fabric) is lightweight and comes with a relaxed fit, perfect for traveling, walking or lounging.

Alex Pick #1

HydraPak Skyflask ($30)

Lightweight soft flask, great for travel, collapses down as you drink, handle doesn’t require you to hold onto it. Pro tip: take into sporting events or concerts and use it as a refillable water bottle. Also, as it starts to empty, blow air into it to help it hold shape.

Alex Pick #2

Janji Long Bra ($68)

This is my go-to sports bra for running. Super comfortable with wider shoulder straps and a self-binded fabrice means no chafing. The longer crop top style works great and the phone pocket in the back keeps your hands free during the run. What else could you want?

Bonus Pick #1

Adidas Sambae ($110)

Everyone’s wearing the Samba, but real ones wear the Sambae. A slightly chunkier silhouette than its slimmed down counterpart the Sambae still embraces the simplicity of the Three Stripes, while offering a shoe that can pretty much be worn with anything.

Bonus Pick #2

Fjallraven Abisko Hike Foldsack ($135)

Sometimes you need a good bag to carry all your stuff from point A to point B. The Abisko roll-top (with a full zipper closure) is perfect for day hikes or traveling and the 25L is just enough space to stash a bunch of stuff without feeling too bulky. Includes a laptop sleeve and external water bottle pockets.

Bonus Pick #3

Branwyn Compressive Leggings ($135)

It’s hard to beat the comfort and utility of Branwyn, made with natural Merino fibers and a seamless compression. A soft and wide waistband doesn’t slip down and it literally feels like you have a second skin.

Bonus Pick #3

Paka Ultralight Coolplus Crew ($135)

There’s a reason Paka sweaters almost instantly sell out. They’re handmade by women artisans in Peru (even signed by them on the tags), featuring organic cotton blended with traceable alpaca fiber. It feels like an actual love language is sewn into the seams.  This one in particular is made for warmer weather, and we promise you won’t find a more comfortable sweater to carry you until fall.

Bonus Pick #5

Diadora Nucleo 2 ($160)

For a comfortable daily trainer that can easily double as a lifestyle shoe, look no further than the Diadora Nucleo 2. Featuring a comfortable Anima midsole and a re-engineered air mesh upper to provide additional support, this is a shoe that will keep you company for miles on end. I know, because my mom wears it religiously.

Bonus Pick #6

Coros Pace Pro ($349)

This is the watch we use everyday, so we know it’ll be the watch your mom uses everyday. For running or hiking or biking or rowing, this upgraded to the Coros Pace features a brilliantly bright AMOLED display, while maintaining the long battery life and accurate GPS that Coros is known for.
