ashmei Gilet Vest Review
If you have been running for a while you know how nice it is to have a good vest. Vests keep your core temp regulated, protect your chest from wind gusts, and rain without the bulk of a jacket. Vests are essential for Fall and Spring running. The Gilet vest from ashmei is a vest you will want to check out.
The fit of the Gilet is European cut. It won’t feel bulky or have extra material flopping around. The styling is signature ashmei. Features include front and shoulder wind and water resistant panels with a vented back. The back is designed with merino wool that helps keep you warm, but lets sweat breath. If you start to heat up, there are zippers near the arm opening that can let out heat even faster. Silicon lines the bottom of the vest to help it from riding up and seal in the warmth. There are several reflective elements for low light visibility, but they are not screaming out or obnoxious like some running apparel can be.
Traditionally we have a bad section. In this case, let’s call it a trade-off. The sleek styling removes larger pockets from this design. The Gilet has two small zippered pockets that can hold a key, credit card, a GU, or maybe cash. This is not a vest for a runner looking to store a lot of items.
The ashmei Gilet has style, a well-tailored cut, and excellent functionality with regards to keeping your core comfortable in a variety of conditions. Quality goes a long way with ashmei. I have the Jacket version of this vest that is in perfect condition after 6 years! You better like the gear cause it will be with you for a long time. The price point isn’t cheap, but neither is the quality of product. The Gilet vest retails for $210.
