Maker of two-way flex plates, Carbitex
Launched a new website to teach people about the quality of flex
Better understanding of foot mechanics

For some reason, there are things we don’t like to talk about, no matter how important they are. These very important things include reasons to root for bad sports teams, how the stork actually gets babies before delivery, and what the heck Nike did to the original Pegasus Turbo. I’ve lost sleep over every single one of them.
You know what I haven’t lost sleep over? The things my foot does when running. I don’t think about it, I don’t talk about it, I just go out and run and hope that nothing hurts. It’s exactly the type of reaction to foot mechanics that would give the engineering minds at Carbitex a fit.
So, they’re doing something about it. They’re talking about flex loud and proud, because someone has to. Someone has to tell you, they have to tell me, and they have to tell the brands that actually make the flexible (or in some cases, inflexible) shoes that we all wear every day. Why? So that we can have better flex, obviously. Flex that’s long, but not too long, and stiff, but not too stiff.
What exactly is Carbitex’s better solution to all of the bad flex people are having? Flex education, of course. Yes, seriously.

Alright, but seriously — Carbitex has launched what it’s calling the Center for Better Flex, and it’s not just an elaborate ad to tell you to start putting Carbitex plates in your Brooks Ghost. Instead, it’s a database of articles to teach you more about your foot, how you propel it forward, and how the right type of footwear can affect your efficiency and mechanics. It’s all important stuff, and not nearly as tongue-in-cheek as it sounds at first.
Right now, there are only a few articles to dig into from the CBF (as I’ve coined it), but this official launch makes me think that more is coming. Carbitex has also added a few newsletter sign-up points to the site, which is good news for those of us who can’t check back every day. Besides, I’d much rather have flex work delivered to my inbox where I can view it in private.
But, if you need one last flex gag, Carbitex has also premiered a PSA-style video to announce its new database. I’ve embedded it below so you can get your laughs in, but then it’s time to go back to a very serious discussion of foot mechanics.
