Altra x And Wander Timp 5 BOA Collab Dials Up the Trail Heat

The collabs keep coming for Altra. The legendary zero-drop brand is flexing its gorpcore and outdoor appeal with recent partnerships, including their first collab trail shoe with Italian-based ROA, which sold out almost instantly.

Now, Altra goes to the other side of the world to partner with Japanese brand And Wander on an all-new Timp 5 BOA silhouette. Now available for $200, the footwear features a granite grey colorway that reflects the alpine landscapes where both brands test their gear.

And Wander is known for its attention to detail in its gear and outerwear, focusing on minimal design structured with premium materials and high-quality performance. In the same way, Altra was born in the mountains of Utah, and the Timp has a long history of taking on all terrain.

Features of the shoe include a precision-engineered mesh upper with strategic reflective details. Instead of standard lacing, the shoe utilizes a single dial BOA Fit System with burrito-style construction. If you’ve never tried BOA then you don’t know what you’re missing. The ability to literally dial in your fit means you’ll get that perfect lockdown any time, on any terrain.

The shoe also utilizes Vibram Megagrip, widely regarded as the most versatile outsole on the market for its balance of grip and durability. Of course, this is an Altra shoe, so it’s built on a zero-drop platform, with an even 29 mm of Ego Max midsole foam in the heel and forefoot. The shoe weighs a respectable 10 oz. (286 g) for a US M9. 

The standard issue version of the shoe comes in at $175, so the And Wander partnership and limited-edition status of the bumps it up to an even $200, which is fairly standard in the collab world.
