Adidas x Hermanos Koumori Ultraboost 5
As mentioned initially during our interview with the founders and later teased in a couple of leaked images, the first proper collaboration between Adidas and Hermanos Koumori has arrived.
Although the brands have previously collaborated on limited products, this marks the first time their partnership will unveil a comprehensive collection, encompassing pieces for race day, training, and lifestyle, with a global release.
The centerpiece is the Adidas x Hermanos Koumori UltraBoost 5, which comes in two colorways: beige and olive green. But the updates go beyond the palette. The traditional Primeknit upper is replaced by rip-stop fabric with welded overlays, toggle lacing, and an integrated tongue. Tactical in appearance but still a runner at heart, the shoe retains Boost cushioning, Torsion X support, and a Continental rubber outsole. The design leans utilitarian, but never forgets its performance roots. It’s a solid entry in the growing line of street-meets-trail hybrids.
What originally was meant to be only one key look eventually evolved into a collection of almost 20 pieces, ranging from running t-shirts and hoodies with hidden pockets to accessories like a bandana, a cap, and even socks.
The 2-in-1 shorts offer three different storage places: a pocket on the back, a smartphone pocket in the liner, and more space in the waist area. There is also apparel available in the Adizero fabric, which includes race singlets for men and women, as well as t-shirts.
The Coach Jacket stands out with laser-cut vents, a packable design, and weather resistance in a sharp, recycled nylon shell.
Overall, the details, such as extra pockets or hooks for keys, combined with the subtle branding and Koumori slogans like “Scispiritual Engineering” and “Run with the Mind” make the entire collection easy to mix with other pieces.
Hermanos Koumori isn’t a conventional brand; it’s more like a creative studio with a visual language rooted in mysticism, futurism, and subcultural fluency. Adidas, meanwhile, brings decades of sportswear history to the table. This isn’t just about adding a logo to a hoodie or tweaking a shoe colorway. The collaboration feels holistic, as if both sides actually invested time in shaping a shared vision. The pieces are designed with an elevated kind of minimalism: deep, earthy tones, functional details, and near-invisible branding that speaks more to identity than advertising. If most collabs aim to catch your eye, this one rewards your attention the longer you look.
