Each year, we get six major marathons, and while the Boston Marathon is iconic, the Tokyo Marathon is elusive, and the Berlin Marathon is record-breaking, there is no marathon that makes a city come alive like the New York City Marathon. It’s a party through and through and one that deserves to be celebrated.
In an effort to include all runners in part of that celebration, New Balance has announced its official 2023 TCS New York City Marathon collection, which includes footwear and apparel to celebrate the journey of 26.2 miles through the five boroughs.
The collection is expansive and is inspired by the crossroads of different cultures and backgrounds within the city, mirroring New Balance’s own brand position at the intersection of sport and culture.
The suggested retail prices for the collection range from $25 to $200 for men’s, women’s, and youth apparel and from $180 to $260 for footwear.
On the apparel side, the Impact Luminous pieces feature next-to-skin technology with woven reflective fabric designed to catch light while providing a stealthy take on run apparel. The reflective woven material is created using dope dyeing methods that reduces water consumption by 80% per yard compared to traditional dyeing methods.
The 2023 New Balance TCS New York City Marathon Collection encapsulates NYC at its core. Inspired by the city full of crossroads and intersections with people from different cultures and backgrounds, combined with the brand’s dominant position at the intersection of sport and culture, the collection represents this intersectionality within the designs of the apparel – most notably in the Impact Luminous styles and the TCS New York City Marathon Run Singlets.
On the footwear side, this year’s collection will also feature a 2023 TCS New York City Marathon limited-edition colorway of the FuelCell SuperComp Elite v3 (out now) and 1080v13 (coming soon). Using neon and white, the footwear gives off electric vibes. When it comes to race day, looking good equals feeling good equals racing good.
