Here’s where to find some of the best gear out there that doesn’t make it into reviews

Why You'll Like It

Because we’ve been wearing it all the time this past month

Best For

Anything from running to hanging out to livin’ the good life

How It Works

We get a lot of gear to review here at Believe in the Run. Sometimes we get a whole seasonal collection to review, but more often than not, we get a bunch of items meant for different purposes. Some nutrition here, a couple hats there, tack on some casual pants and maybe some socks.

If you’re like us, you probably don’t want to read a review about just one pair of socks, or a backpack, or whatever. But if we’re using something all the time– if it’s become part of our running life– we want you to know. That’s where this monthly roundup comes in.

Each month, we give you a list of items that we really, truly love. Everything on this list is something we keep coming back to again and again. Maybe it’s the fit, maybe it’s the performance, maybe it’s just something we can’t explain. But at the end of the day, we love it, and we hope you do too.

Of course, we’re always looking for new gear to fall in love with, so if you have any recommendations yourself, please leave them in the comments below.

The Running Gear We Love Right Now

Thomas’s Pick #1

Miler Running Dirt Collection ($130-180)

The collection consists of three pieces, and each one is flawless. Each item is made to go the distance using French Cordura fabric and made in NYC. I loved the fit and elevated feel of each garment. The two-in-one shorts have pockets that are so well incorporated into the shorts that I am still finding new storage options. If I could only get one piece, I would go with the half-zip tank. It would work perfectly with a pack since the Cordura fabric is anti-abrasion, and the collar of the tank pops just enough to protect your neck from the pack straps.

Meaghan’s Pick #1

Asics Metarun Tank ($70)

It’s that time of year again when wearing a shirt is not optimal, but if you’re going to wear one, it better have holes in it. The Metarun tank from Asics has exactly that, or as they like to say: “strategic body-mapped fabric that provides targeted ventilation in key heat zones.” Either way, this is a winner for those extra warm days.

Robbe’s Pick #1

Tailwind Nutrition Courtney Dauwaltermelon ($40 for 50 servings)

If it’s good enough for the GOAT, it’s probably good enough for you and me. The Endurance Fuel is the classic hydration mix, but this time comes in a refreshing watermelon flavor, with the perfect balance of sugar, sodium (310 mg), and key electrolytes like potassium, magnesium, and calcium. I’ve been using it during my workouts and long runs, because you can never have enough electrolytes in the dog days of summer.

Thomas’s Pick #2

Le Bent The Bluey 5-Panel Cap ($45)

Known for socks, Lé Bent sent us some samples that are quite comfy but maybe too thick for Maryland’s mid-summer humidity; however, the caps are worth fighting over with Meg. She snagged the white one, so by default, I have the black one. The hats are rated UPF 50+, have unique venting on the side panels, and Meg’s new favorite bungee-style shock cord in the back to get the ideal fit.

Meaghan’s Pick #2

Ciele GoCap - Paris Edition ($55)

The Ciele GoCap has become my go-to hat this summer. It’s lightweight, fast-drying, machine washable, and comes with a pliable pre-curved brim. The best feature? An adjustable, stretchy drawstring cord that gives you the *perfect* fit. I also like wearing my Paris version since we’ll be heading there in August.

Robbe’s Pick #2

Adidas Terrex AeroReady Speed Hiking Backpack ($180)

We got these packs when we were out in California for the Adidas Terrex Dirt Circus, and I gotta say, it’s a pretty awesome fastpack. The 15-liter capacity is just the right amount of storage for a daypack and the rolltop closure with zipper access is a nice design touch. I also love the raised webbing on the back for one of the best ventilation systems I’ve come across in a pack. Hydration bladder compatible and webbing loops and metal toggles let you secure skis, hiking poles, or ice axes. Point being– this thing is super versatile and ready for any adventure.

Ryan’s Pick #1

Liquid IV Firecracker Electrolyte Mix ($25 / 16 servings)

Hear that? It’s nostalgia calling. We all remember the red white and blue rocket pops from when we were kids, and now I finally have them back in a far more practical form factor as an adult. It’s the middle of summer and hydration is at a premium, but I’ve been loving the throwback of cherry, lime, and raspberry flavors in my water while I tick off the miles.

Ryan’s Pick #2

Le Bent 3/4 Crew Trail Sock ($26)

Thomas gave me a pair of these literally yesterday, but I’m hooked. I’m a sucker for a soft pair of socks, and an even bigger sucker for a crew-height cut. These Le Bent socks have just the right amount of support through the ankle and instep, and the mesh over the top of my foot is breathable in the summer heat.

Ryan is kind of like Robbe’s Igor behind the scenes. He helps to compile and clean up everyone’s reviews, and finds time to get in a few miles of his own. When he’s not running or editing, Ryan writes and reviews for Android Authority, spending time with the latest tech and complaining when things don’t work quite right. If he’s not doing any of that, maybe you’ll find him nose-deep in a crossword puzzle or trying to catch up on an endless backlog of shows to stream.
