Believe in the Run HQ Launch Party Recap

bitr office

Wow, we had such an amazing time at the Believe in the Run HQ Launch Party that it took us a couple weeks to get over our post-party hangover and post a recap. For those of you who missed it, we wanted to post a short recap with some shots of the party and links to the YouTube highlights from ourselves and some special guests.

All that to say, on July 10, 2021, nearly 300 friends, fam, and fans of Believe in the Run came down to 1805 Eastern Avenue in Baltimore to celebrate the official opening of our new headquarters. The whole event was sponsored by ASICS, who showed up with an array of shoes for try-ons and giveaways, ranging from the Metaspeed Sky to the Magic Speed to the Novablast 2. On top of that, they provided on-demand custom t-shirt printing with event branding, as well as pint glasses for the post-run pours of beer (courtesy of Mobtown Brewing). Super Coffee provided some natural NA beverages while Cocina Luchadoras served up some ice-cold fruit pops, tacos, and tamales.

Things kicked off at 9 a.m. as we opened the doors to the space, which has taken over an old brick rowhome in the heart of historic Fells Point, Baltimore. The early birds checked out the common area with large screen TV and shelf space (perfect for pop-up shops or boutique events), podcast studio, and video room with our infamous Shoe Wall v2. Upstairs is office space and a communal kitchen area.

Things really started cooking closer to 10 a.m. when we had our first official 5K from the headquarters (and yes, there’s a Strava segment for it). A large group of us ran the out and back course, a beautiful route along the water in Fells Point and Harbor East. Honestly, we’re not even sure who got the segment because a dude in the front pack passed out from heat exhaustion (he’s okay and we hooked him up with a BITR sweatshirt post-race. We’re also pretty sure he also got whatever pair of ASICS he had on his feet when the ambulance took him away.)

After the race, we hung out with some of our favorite people in the world, including Michael Ko (aka Kofuzi), Ben Johnson (with family in tow), Michael from Atreyu Running, Two Dads Run Podcast, and of course all the people from the BITR team, including Hollie Sick (aka @fueledbylolz), our stability boy Aldren from Florida, and the best run crew in Baltimore – the Faster Bastards.

Yes we had beers, and they were delicious. Yes, we had tacos, and they were delicious. Yes, we had tequila, and it was delicious. Yes, we ran a lot of miles, and they were amazing. Yes, we were super tired for about three days afterwards.

To say this has been a dream of ours would be an understatement. We work crazy hard to try and bring you the best content and shoe reviews possible while keeping it entertaining and fun. We love all of you that came and all of you who couldn’t. Trust us when we say we are honored and grateful to be living this life and to have you along for the ride.

We promise there’s going to be more chances to hang and be a part of this new era of running, because although this event is already over, we think the real party is just beginning.
