Breaking news

Bandit has turned the Chicago Marathon into its own television network, with another successful collection and pop-up dubbed “Channel 26 BNDTV.” It includes a nine-piece Chicago ’26 capsule anchored by the tagline “Don’t Stop Starting to Believe” and is inspired by newspaper and TV station visuals.

The everyday pieces

The highlight is the Bandit Tribune box tee. It features a commemorative Chicago newspaper print on a heavyweight, 100% cotton, cut boxy tee with a lived-in feel, made in Peru, obviously a nod to the Chicago Tribune. A second cotton box tee, Bandit TV, is available only at the pop-up, Thursday through Saturday.

Another off-course favorite is the Chroma Wash Cropped Hoodie ($128), with a bandit logo graphic and washed fabric that gives the drop the same worn-in look as the Tribune tee.

The performance pieces

The race-day pieces cover the running side. The Men’s Shredder Race Singlet with Flopack and the Women’s Stamina Lyra race crop. Both feature graphics inspired by newspaper ink letters, creating a text collage.

The unisex Bandit Cheque Long Sleeve ($110) puts a jacquard pattern on a performance long sleeve. This one also plays with the ink bleed, this time creating a subtle shape of a person running.

The unisex FrioSoft Perforated Box Tee ($88) takes the boxy silhouette of the cotton tees and puts it in perforated performance fabric, linking the street pieces to the race pieces. On the back, the slogan “News travels fast”

The collection also includes the Nylon Lunar Wash Dad Hat ($50) and the Chicago 26 Lite Run socks ($33) to complete it.

Back to the studio

Bandit's theme goes offline too, with a pop-up the brand calls “Channel 26 BNDTV Studios,” where, on top of the collection, the brand will host shake-out runs, a cheer zone, and offer medal portraits after the marathon.

In addition to the pop-up, the collection is also available online on Bandit’s website, with some items available for pre-order.
