ALEX: Adidas Terrex has quickly reached the top in the trail running scene. Trusted by athletes like Ruth Croft, Emily Hawgood, and Taylor Nowlin, the brand quickly found a place in my closet. The Adidas Terrex Hike Collection is equipped with advanced features and thoughtful design that position the brand well to compete in the hiking space. The pieces look beautiful and complement each other well, but how do they perform? Let’s dig into a few highlights.
MyShelter Gore-Tex Rain Jacket
ALEX: The MyShelter lives up to its name. It’s a packable, portable shelter. Made just for you. The Gore-Tex Active Shell is lightweight, highly breathable, and protective against the elements. It’s loaded with advanced design features, including an adjustable, helmet-compatible hood, reflective detail on the sleeves and back for added safety in low visibility conditions, two-way full zip with high collar, and adjustable hem and hook-and-loop cuffs.
The fit is functional, comfortable, and has a modern, oversized style that moves effortlessly from the trail to the city. It fits easily over a base layer and mid layer. The length is perfect for under a backpack and works well for throwing over a hydration vest.
The Gore-Tex’s 100% nylon plain weave lends a soft, smooth feel. One of my biggest complaints about some rain jackets is their sticky, rubber-like liner. When I’m caught in a downpour at 13,000 feet, the last thing I want to do is fumble around with a cumbersome rain jacket to get on and off. The smooth material and the roomy fit make the shell quick and easy to deploy.
It has two large side pockets, a small internal chest pocket, and two zippered underarm vents. By the way, these vents also allow quick access to the pockets on the Hiking Jacket when layered over the top. The zippers on the jacket are equipped with the largest zipper pulls I’ve ever seen, a feature I immediately appreciated. No more fumbling around trying to grip a tiny zipper in the cold rain!
The Adidas Terrex Hike MyShelter is thoughtfully designed and extremely versatile. It’s highly protective with enough features to accommodate hiking, climbing, running, or a cold, wet day in the city.

Tech Fleece Hooded Hiking Jacket
ALEX: The Hiking Jacket is made with a non-brushed fabric and recycled materials, part of Adidas’ commitment to minimize microfiber shedding in our waters and end plastic waste.
The long cut, a full-zip high collar, and hood make this a highly versatile and protective mid-layer. It’s lined with a waffle-pattern fleece that is warm, breathable, and wicking. I’m a big fan of waffle-patterned fleece — it keeps me warm without overheating. The jacket has two large side pockets and a small sleeve pocket. I’m not sure what you use a sleeve pocket for, but I find pockets like these equal parts exciting and confusing.
Overall this cozy and functional jacket will work great on its own, under a puffy, or will layer perfectly with the MyShelter Rain Jacket.

ALEX: The Adidas Terrex Hike Multi T-shirt is a highly versatile crewneck t-shirt ideal for running, hiking, or hanging out. The shirt has a silky feel, relaxed fit, and longer sleeves to provide additional coverage.

The Climaproof fabric is breathable and lightweight — you can put it on and forget you are wearing it. The colorway makes it a top choice for standing out at a crowded start line or aid station.

Zupahike Hiking Trousers and Shorts
ALEX: The Zupahike Hiking Trousers and Shorts are generated from production waste, e.g., cutting scraps, and post-consumer household waste, to avoid the larger environmental impact of producing virgin content.
The 4-way stretch material is comfortable, durable, and breathable. Both the trousers and shorts have cargo-style pockets for easy access on the go. They both have two large side pockets and a smaller secured zip pocket. The waist is equipped with belt loops if that is your thing.
My biggest complaint about both the trousers and shorts also make them a dealbreaker for me. I can appreciate a well-designed high-waisted pant or short, but these take things to a new level. Literally, the waist sits just below my sports bra line. It’s simply too high for me. In addition, the material that covers the zip fly is a triangle shape, which seems to provide no additional function and ends up being extra material that doesn’t sit flat and creates an unflattering bulge.
The tapered leg on the trouser is fine, although it’s a little too long for me and just ends up bunching up at the top of my shoe.
Overall the high-waisted design of the Zupahike Trousers and Shorts make these uncomfortable and, as a result, a no-go for me.
